As a fine jeweler, you can imagine diamonds are our best friend too. In this post, we will teach you the same criteria that we review when we buy diamonds for resale. First, you should know that no two diamonds are the same. Each polished diamond has a unique value.
The 4C's of Diamonds
The cut, color, clarity and carat wait will be the most important factors in the value of what you buy. There is one other important fact to consider and that is, "Do you love it?". Let's take a look at each of the 4C's.
The cut of a diamond is the biggest factor in influencing sparkle. When cuts are made in proper proportions, light is returned out of the top of the diamond (referred to as the table). Cuts that are too shallow or too deep, allow light to leak out the bottom or side. So it is the craftsman's skill and precision that determines how the diamond interacts with light to return the dazzling brilliance that we experience.
